LET'S GO!
Many important things happened today, the nomination of candidates for our new Presiding Bishop (see Woody's post) the election of a new vice-president of the House of Deputies, and the passage of many resolutions that were necessary for the continuation of the internal workings of the Church. Other resolutions spoke to liturgical issues including additions to the Lesser Feasts and Fasts.
There is a sense however that General Convention would like to get on with some of the charged issues of the Church such as the Windsor Report. Rumors have begun to circulate. We need to get on with business. Tomorrow the new Presiding Bishop will be elected. Please pray for the process and the Bishops of the Church who will elect and the Bishop elected. The Church will do that Bishop no favor by electing.
We must learn to wait upon the Lord in the days ahead for this convention. If we are faithful, if we let the Holy Spirit lead us into a new place and put our trust in God, all will be well.
Dean Hurley
